By taking the following Temperament Test, you will have determined some aspects of your body-mind-energy Primary and possibly Secondary Temperament. The primary four humours are:

Blood (sanguine, hot and wet, salty)
Yellow Bile (choleric, hot and dry, bitter)
Water (phlegmatic, cold and wet, sweet)
Black Bile (melancholic, cold and dry, sour)

These humours provide the energy for our Temperament. With Avicenna Cuisine, we refer to the four Temperaments as:
Airy (Hot and Wet)
Fiery (Hot and Dry)
Watery (Cold and Wet)
Earthy (Cold and Dry)

While Avicenna Cuisine is an integrative system, it is similar in many ways to alternative systems such as Ayurveda, Chinese, Tibetan, Japanese, and so forth, in the sense of maintaining a balance to be able to live a healthy life. A balance is maintained through exhibiting the strengths of your Temperament, determined by whether or not your Temperament is hot or cold (active qualities) or dry or wet (passive qualities). Of course, there are many factors that enter into determining your Temperament: Place of birth, Temperament of your parents and gender, among others. In addition, your original Temperament may change somewhat over time depending upon your age. The Temperament Test simply gives you a general picture of some of the characteristics of your nature, but is not exhaustive. While your physical Temperament is expressed through your humours and the presence of the elemental qualities, your affective, behavioral and cognitive (ABC of the self) Temperament is understood through the Temperament Test.

Then, in the same way that you have a basic, predisposed physical Temperament that shows itself through your emotions, your behavior and the way you think, your strengths are strengthened or weaknesses weakened by the property of the food that you eat. As each of you is an individual, with an individual nature, maintaining a balance of health depends on you eating the right tempered foods for your particular Temperament.
